Hotel Tanios, a Aley landmark built in the late 1950s, will be completely renovated and launched, next summer.
The project will be built on a 6,200 square meter plot, estimated at $12 million. The hotel will take up 4,500 sq. m of the area, with a 90-meter façade on Aley’s main road.
Hotel Tanios will consist of a 33,750 sqm built-up area comprising three underground floors, one ground floor, and eight above-ground floors with 156 rooms and suites.
A Saudi investor purchased the hotel for $6 million from the heirs of the Tanios and Mkanna families, in 2007. It was resold in 2009 to Al Rayyan for Projects Development, a Qatari real estate venture.
The hotel will keep its name, but will be managed by an international chain, whose name has not been announced yet.
Hotel Tanios’ new architecture recalls its former structure but with modern designs. Its amenities will include a ballroom, a gymnasium, pools, a movie theater, leasable outlets, and a shopping mall.
