At the invitation of the Druze Women Association and under the auspices of the Minister of Education “Akram Shehayeb” and the Mayor of Aley Municiplaity Mr. Wajdi Murad and Médecins du Monde, Aley Social Health Center was opened in the presence of Mr. Rabih Munther representing Minister Akram Shehayeb and Deputy Mayor Aley "Samir Khoury" representing the Mayor of Aley Mr. "Wajdi Murad", and Dr. "Suhail Matar" representative of the Druze Unitarian Sheikh Naim Hassan and a number of people. The ceremony, which started with the Lebanese national anthem, was presented by Najwa Jaber, media consulant of the Druze Women Association.
The President of the Association, Mrs. Camelia Halimeh Ballan, welcomed the audience and thanked the Minister of Education, Mr. Akram Shehayeb and Mrs. Salma Shehayeb, as well as the Government of Canada and the Ambassador Emmanuelle Lamoureux, who is funding Médecins du Monde and the project that is celebrated today.
In turn, she stressed the role of women in building human beings from birth to death and therefore must be granted her full human rights .
Dr. Ramzi Al-Jurdi,member of the Municipal Council, delivered the speech of Aley Municipality, and started by welcoming the attendees. He described this day as a beautiful day in the city of beauty, the bride of the summer resorts Aley. He pointed to the great support provided by the Mayor of Aley, Mr. Wajdi Murad, to this project, which had a previous visit to this opening to follow up the work and preparations.
He concluded by thanking on behalf of the Mayor of Aley and members of the municipal council to Mrs. Camelia Halimeh Ballan, President of the Druze Women Association, members of the administrative board, the Embassy of Canada to Lebanon, Médecins du Monde, and his Excellency Minister Akram Shehayeb and everyone who contributed to this work.
