Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon organizes art competition to mark the 70th anniversary of independence

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon organized an art competition cum exhibition to mark the 70th anniversary of independence of Sri Lanka. The art competition cum exhibition was one of the events of a series of activities organized by the Embassy to mark the 70th anniversary of independence of Sri Lanka and the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Lebanon.

The art exhibition was held on 25th January 2018 in Aley, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education of Lebanon and the Municipality of Aley.

Around 200 school children from public schools in Aley municipality had participated in the art competition and 50 selected paintings were displayed at the Exhibition on 25th January. Lebanese Minister of Education Marwan Hamadeh and the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Lebanon H.M.G.R.R.K. Wijeratne Mendis opened the Exhibition.

The Embassy distributed trophies, medals, gifts and certificates to the participants of the art competition. The winner was gifted two air tickets sponsored by Kuwait Airways.
